Privacy policy: Sense6 Ai and its phone apps
Last updated October 6, 2026
This policy covers Sense6 Ai, the app for Mac, Windows and Linux, and Sense6 Ai Companion, the iPhone and Android app that pairs with it, both made by ONECLOUD LLC (“we”). They work on your own devices: what they see, hear and remember stays on your devices, encrypted, and we can never read it. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking in either app.
For Sense6 Ai Office at sense6.io, see the main privacy policy.
The phone app (Sense6 Ai Companion for iPhone and Android)
It gathers these only after you turn it on and allow each one in your phone’s settings:
- Speech: while it’s on, it listens and keeps only the moments when someone is speaking, as short compressed audio clips. Silence is never kept. Your phone shows that it’s listening whenever it does (the recording indicator on iPhone, a notification on Android), and you can pause it at any time.
- Places and movement: the places you visit and roughly where you are (with Location access; on Android, only while it’s listening); whether you’re walking, running, cycling or driving, and your steps (on iPhone with Motion & Fitness access, on Android from Health Connect).
- Calls: when a phone call starts, how long it lasts and whether you placed it. Your phone never tells the app who you called or what was said.
- Apple Health or Health Connect, if you allow it: daily summaries of sleep, heart rate, heart rate variability, resting and walking heart rate, blood oxygen, breathing rate, steps, distance, flights climbed, active energy, exercise and stand minutes, workouts, mindful minutes, weight and VO2 max. The app only reads health data; it never writes any.
- Your phone’s battery level, name and model, so your computer knows which phone is paired and when it needs charging.
- What you ask Sense6 in the app, by voice or typed, and your answers to its approval requests.
Where it goes
Only to Sense6 Ai on your own computer, the one you paired by scanning its code. On the same Wi-Fi they talk directly; anywhere else (cellular or another network), they pass messages through our relay at sense6.io. Everything is end-to-end encrypted (AES-256-GCM) with a key created when you pair, so the relay only ever holds sealed messages it can’t read, and deletes each one as soon as it’s picked up, or after 7 days. Until your computer answers, what the phone gathered waits on your phone (audio clips for at most 7 days) and is excluded from backups.
The relay sees only what it needs to pass messages along: a random channel number for your phone and computer, your computer’s one-way hardware hash (see below), when they connect and how much they send. Like any website, it also sees their IP addresses, which it uses only to prevent abuse and doesn’t store with your messages. It keeps none of this longer than 90 days.
Health data is used only to give your assistant context about your day. It’s never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared with anyone else. We never use it to train AI models.
On your computer (Sense6 Ai)
- It keeps what it sees, hears and remembers, including what your phone sends, encrypted on your computer.
- To understand what you ask and do it, it uses the AI that comes with your Sense6 plan. What you ask Sense6, with what it needs to answer (text, and images or audio when a request includes them), passes through Sense6’s AI gateway at sense6.io to the AI provider your plan uses (each plan on sense6.io names its AI), which answers it under its agreement with us. sense6.io passes it straight through and doesn’t keep it: it keeps only counts of requests, tokens and their cost for each license, by month and by day, to keep your plan within its monthly allowance and to check what each plan costs us.
- Some work never leaves your computer: speech is transcribed on it (Apple’s speech recognition on a Mac, an open speech model on Windows and Linux), and on plans that keep background work (glances, tips, sorting email) on your computer, a Mac with Apple Intelligence runs it with Apple’s on-device model.
- During the free trial, the AI is Sense6’s shared trial AI, which works the same way: what you ask passes through sense6.io to the AI provider we chose for the trial, and sense6.io keeps only counts of requests and tokens for each computer (by its one-way hardware hash) and day, to keep the trial within its limits, and deletes them after 90 days. Paid plans never use the shared trial AI.
- Services you connect yourself, like your email account, Home Assistant, Ring or a voice service, receive only what they need to do what you asked.
- To start the free trial and check your subscription, it sends sense6.io a one-way hash of your computer’s hardware IDs (never the IDs themselves), your computer’s name, its operating system, the app’s version and your key. If you buy, Stripe handles the payment and we keep your email address to send you your key.
- If you ask for the phone app (its link, or an invitation to try it before it’s in the stores), it sends sense6.io the email and name you type in. sense6.io keeps them to send you the link and to tell you when the app is out; for an iPhone test invitation it also gives them to Apple, which emails you the TestFlight invitation.
- It checks sense6.io for announcements from Sense6, which it says out loud and shows as a card. sense6.io records which computers received each one and which said it out loud, by the computer’s license ID (its one-way hardware hash), and nothing about you or what it hears.
- If you get a Sense6 email ([email protected], in Settings → Email accounts), sense6.io keeps that mailbox the way Gmail or Outlook keep yours: mail sent to the address is stored there until your computer brings it in, and what you send from it goes out through our email provider, Resend, and is kept in Sent. Each computer reads it with its license and a key of its own. Releasing the address deletes the mail kept for it on sense6.io.
- It checks GitHub for new versions.
Google account data (connected accounts)
If you connect a Google account in Sense6 Ai, under Settings → Email accounts → Connect Google, it signs in with Sense6’s Google app and asks Google for gmail.modify, calendar.events, drive.file and contacts, plus openid, email and profile for the sign-in. This is what it does with them:
| Permission | What Sense6 Ai does with it |
|---|---|
| Read, organize and send your email (gmail.modify) | Reads your mail into Sense6 Ai on your computer to sort it into a priority inbox, search it, summarize it and draft replies. It sends, replies, forwards, archives, deletes (to the Trash) and marks messages read or unread only when you ask or approve. Nothing is sent without your OK. |
| See and manage your events (calendar.events) | Reads your calendars to show your day and remind you. For now, Sense6 Ai only reads your calendar. |
| See and manage your contacts (contacts) | Reads your contacts into the People list in Sense6 Ai on your computer. Sense6 Ai doesn’t change your contacts. |
| See, edit, create and delete only the specific Google Drive files you use with this app (drive.file) | Sense6 Ai can reach only the files you’ve given it, never the rest of your Drive. It reads their text so it can answer your questions from them and tell you which file an answer came from. |
Where your Google data goes:
- Your mail, events, contacts and the text of your files are stored only on your computer, encrypted. The account’s access key is kept in your computer’s keychain.
- sense6.io only signs you in and renews the access key, because Google requires the app’s secret for that. It passes the key back to your computer, encrypted so only that computer can read it, and keeps nothing: no mail, no files, no tokens.
- When Sense6 Ai uses an AI model on your Google data, for example to sort your mail or draft a reply, the text goes through Sense6’s AI gateway to the AI provider of your Sense6 plan, which answers it; the gateway keeps only counts, never the text. Work your plan keeps on your computer, like sorting mail with Apple’s on-device model on a Mac, stays there.
Sense6 never sells Google data, never uses it for advertising, and does not use it to train AI models. Sense6’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
To disconnect, open Settings → Email accounts → Remove in Sense6 Ai: Sense6 forgets that account’s calendar and files. You can also remove its access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Microsoft accounts work the same way: your mail, calendar, contacts and OneDrive files are stored only on your computer, and signing in and renewing the access key go through sense6.io, which keeps nothing.
Our website
On sense6.io’s public pages, InfluencerEngine stores a visitor ID in a cookie and your browser’s storage, to tell which partner sent you and whether you downloaded or bought Sense6 Ai. It sees the page address and those events, never what you type. The apps don’t use it, and there are no advertising cookies.
Your choices
- Pause listening in the app at any time, or turn off any permission in your phone’s settings (Settings → Apps → Sense6 Ai, on iPhone and Android).
- Unpair in the app to stop syncing; deleting the app removes everything it kept on your phone.
- On your computer, Sense6 Ai → Settings → Phone companion removes a paired phone.
- Sense6 Ai isn’t meant for children under 13.
