Set up the phone app
- Install Sense6 Ai on your Mac, Windows or Linux computer and finish its setup.
- On the computer: Sense6 Ai → Settings → Phone companion → Show pairing code.
- On the phone: open Sense6 Ai, tap “Pair with your computer” and scan the code. Keep both on the same Wi-Fi.
Questions
It says my computer is out of reach.
Sense6 Ai needs to be running and online on your computer. On the same Wi-Fi the phone reaches it directly; anywhere else it goes through Sense6’s encrypted relay, so your computer also needs an internet connection. On the iPhone, check Settings → Apps → Sense6 Ai → Local Network is on for the direct connection. What the phone gathered waits until your computer answers.
Does it work away from home?
Yes. When your phone isn’t on the same Wi-Fi as your computer, it syncs through Sense6’s relay over cellular or any network, end-to-end encrypted. Your computer needs to be on and online.
It stopped listening.
Open the app. iOS stops apps that are swiped away in the app switcher, and a call or another app can take the microphone; Sense6 comes back when it’s free. On Android, after a restart, tap its notification to turn it back on.
Is it recording all the time?
It listens while it’s on but keeps only speech, never silence, and your phone shows that it’s listening (the recording indicator on iPhone, a notification on Android). Tap Pause whenever you like. Let people know when it’s on; some places require everyone’s consent to record a conversation.
My Health data doesn’t arrive.
On the iPhone, open Settings → Apps → Health → Data Access & Devices → Sense6 Ai and turn on the categories you want to share. On Android, open Health Connect → App permissions → Sense6 Ai and allow them. It syncs about every 15 minutes while your computer is reachable.
How do I remove my data?
Unpair in the app and delete it to remove everything on the phone. On your computer, Settings → Phone companion removes the phone.
Do I need an account?
No. The app pairs directly with your computer; there’s no sign-in.
